Two passive channels for studio and live
DIP is Teknosign’s two-channel passive Direct Box for instruments and sources that need a balanced XLR feed to a mixer, stagebox or audio interface while retaining a THRU path to an amplifier when required. The two channels operate independently in the Box Line format.
IN, THRU, Pad and Ground Lift on each channel
Each channel combines IN, THRU, a -20 dB Pad and Ground Lift. THRU keeps a parallel path to the amplifier, while Ground Lift disconnects pin 1 of the XLR output when the ground connection contributes to a specific ground loop.
Handling higher-level sources
Declared maximum input level is +22 dBu with Pad OFF and +42 dBu with the -20 dB Pad engaged. The Pad therefore allows higher-level sources to be handled within the specified DI operating condition.
Passive topology with custom transformer
The passive topology with custom transformer requires no power supply. An integrated EMI/RFI filter completes the signal path.
Applications
DIP is suitable for passive bass, electric guitar, analog synths, pedalboards and studio or live setups that require two passive DI channels with straightforward routing and Pad level management.
