SSMP is the mono microphone preamplifier in the Box Line series, designed to preserve the character of the microphone and source without imposing a pronounced coloration. Its linear, fully transformerless solid-state signal path is designed for precise, natural and detailed capture, for users who want a clear and controllable signal right at the source.

Precise recallable gain control

The combination of Gross Gain and Fine Gain makes level setting straightforward while allowing precise adjustment. Gross Gain lets you reach the required level quickly in 10 dB steps, while Fine Gain trims it in 1 dB increments. Together they cover an overall gain range of 0 to 69 dB, making settings easy to establish, document and recall across sessions.

Essential controls directly on the preamp

SSMP is designed to work with microphones with different characteristics and requirements. Its 48 V phantom power delivers 10 mA on the channel, while the design is intended to provide generous headroom in signal handling. Low Cut and Output Phase provide immediate control at the source when needed, keeping the workflow straightforward and efficient.

Build quality and Box Line integration

The design focus extends beyond the audio path. An aluminium chassis, durable powder-coated finish and high-quality PCB complete a construction intended for everyday studio use. Its compact format allows SSMP to be used as a standalone unit or integrated into a larger Box Line system. An external 24 V DC power supply is included.
